According to the Education system in Japan, a 14 year old would be in a 3rd year in middle school, while a 15 year old would be a freshman in high school.
Therefore, Mei Misaka and other third-year middle schoolers are at the age of 14!
It is the same as follows, freshman in high school are 15, sophomore are 16 and entering their freshman in a college or university is 18.

soo I'm like completely new to wikia. I created this account just for another :D I watched the show and fell completely in love with it and some of the people in it :O it's my #1 thriller/horror anime and definitely goes in my top 5 best anime ever !! haven't felt such a strong connection to some of the people before especially in such a short time span. just 12 episodes and I can't take my mind off of it for the past month or so. I've watched like 120 episodes of naruto but I didn't really care for any of it so I stopped like 3 years ago. same goes for one piece... also this anime has like the most heart ripping scene I've seen in a long time ! you know which I mean right ;) poor izumi...so undeserved...

Unregistered Edits?
I've noticed the vast majority of edits made on this wiki aren't registered. While I don't have a problem with that, and the vast majority of these edits are fine (and some are quite good), earlier yesterday Izumi Akazawa's page was vandalized by one such editor. While I'd prefer to avoid the nuclear option if possible, I'm seriously considering turning off the unregistered edits to prevent this from happening in the future. Please, feel free to drop a line off here and express your opinions on this new development.

New Administrators
As of last night, myself and DarkFlameNightwing have been promoted to administrators of this fine wiki. What does that mean? Well, it means there are now admins actively involved in the wiki's day to day affairs. Who's Read the Novel?
Has anybody out there read the novel? We have very, very little info about it on the site right now (I own a copy of the manga and have access to the anime, so I'm not as worried about that content). I'd really like to make a major push toward streamlining our continuities and broadening the information on the novel. That's where Another started, after all. Once we get that going, we can focus on the manga and film-related articles (I honestly think all of us have seen the anime, so we could probably slow down a bit on info from that medium). Anyone have anything to weigh in?

Well, it's been a week, and Nightwing seems to be the only other person editing on here (and unlike me, she seems to actually have a life...). Trying to get some sort of feedback from people as I intend to submit an adoption request in the next few days. Does anyone have any objections or opinions on the matter? Please let me know.

Ridiculous NUmber of Pictures
I understand the point of the gallery pages, but it seems a bit ridiculous the sheer number of pictures some pages have garnered over time (Koichi's page in particular looks like a freaking story book). I'd like some help going through the pages and weeding out the unnecessary images. I'd say a good rule of thumb, and tell me if you agree, is that a main article should not have more pictures on it than paragraphs. I'd like some assistance coming up with a fast and loose ratio for these (I think 2-3 paragraphs per picture seems fair). I imagine people have been doing this to earn the stupid picture badges (I don't like the mindless editing those things encourage in the first place).

My Another/Eternal Darkness Crossover Fanfic: Another Journey Into Darkness. Please Review!
SPARTAN 119 here. First of all, I'm sorry if this fanfic add violates any rules. But for now, I'll assume it doesn't. Anyway, I was using this wiki for references for a crossover between the Eternal Darkness video game and Another (random, I know, but bear with me.)

Another? What is that? What is the meaning about that? I don't understand about the tittle.. why another is the tittle?
Yes, pretty annoying right? yup, that words are in my brains when i'm founding this anime, silly isn't it? I watch Another just because i'm currious about the tittle, and voila! i really watched it, and the anime opens with a "Misaki" urban legend, and wow, that urban legend make's me more currious about this anime. And then i watch the opening... and so many creepy dolls in there make's me think: "Darn, this is a horror anime....So maybe another is about dead people lived again, have another live(oh yeah my mind was right after i watch the whole episode XD)

Another anime impresion
This anime series was recommended for me by a friend who loves this anime. He told me what is kind of horror and that I will love it. I wasn't impressed and decided not to watch it. But, someday, when I was totally bored and with nothing to do, sitting on my computer and doing nothing, I decided to start watch it. Then I couldn't take my eyes away from it. In 2-3 days I watched all the aired episodes. I was fully impressed and now I love this anime. I don't want it to end after 12 episodes. It's too short! I still believe in a season 2, even if I know it's not possible. The hope dies last! I can't wait for the new episode ( and the pre-final one :( ) to air tuesday.

The origin of Kouichi's name!
You all know(of course), Kouichi Sakakibara, right? Well, I discovered something wild about his name's origin. :3 Apparently, May 1997 in Kobe, Japan, a middle school boy had killed a boy and a girl. He killed a special-ed boy, and decapitated him, put him by the front gate of the school, then wrote a note saying: "This is the beginning of the game... You police guys stop me if you can... I desperately want to see people die, it is a thrill for me to commit murder. A bloody judgment is needed for my years of great bitterness.", and it was signed with the name "Sakakibara". Apparently, they caught him finally, on June 28, 1997. And on top of that, he assaulted THREE other girls, on the same day he killed Ayaka Yamashita. Nothing like Kouichi…
